Hope's Hello Kitty Cake

6"-8"
This cake was for my Mom's best friend's granddaughter. She loves Hello Kitty and the criteria that I got for the cake was a Hello Kitty cake, with hot pink and zebra print. I knew that I wanted to make a 3D Hello Kitty topper but I tend to procrastinate sometimes and didn't start on it days in advance like I should have in order for it to dry enough to be assembled without cracking. So I made her out of polymer clay instead! That way, I could make her at the last minute and not have to worry about my gumpaste cracking under the weight of the head or anything stressful like that. =)

Although this cake didn't photograph like I'd hoped, it's seriously one of my favorites! I just love the colors together! I added my new little name plaque border that I love so much. There were 12 cupcakes that went with the cake. I wish so much that the photograph would have turned out better! But oh well. =) This is what Se'Rasia's mom sent me for inspiration...

Baby Anais

I had made a baby shower cake in 2010 that looked almost identical to this one but it had a ladybug topper on it. This customer wanted a similar cake but with a butterfly topper instead. =)

Taylor's 2nd Birthday

4"-6"-8"
I was given a picture of an adorable cake to recreate for this one. They had used the color pink instead of red on their cake and my customer wanted the red instead. I added the name to my version of the design. =)

Leann's Angry Birds Cake

6"-8"
This is a replica of an Angry Birds cake that I had previously made. The only difference is that I added a "3" to this one. Oh, and the name is different too. ;-)

I was given a party invitation to use as inspiration for this cake. It was a last minute cake and I didn't get as much time as I wanted to be able to come up with a design that I really loved. I wish that I would have added a black backing to the name instead of the white, just to add a nice pop on the cake itself and to bring the black from baby Mickey's ears down as well.
